Penny Wars
Join us for Penny Wars, an exciting school fundraiser that promotes friendly competition while raising money for a great cause! In this fun event, each grade band competes to collect the most points by contributing coins and dollar bills. Pennies and dollars earn points for your team, while other silver coins subtract points from rival teams. Gather your spare change and strategize to help your class win! The team with the highest score at the end of the event will be rewarded with a walking field trip to Studio 35. Let’s unite for a fun-filled fundraising challenge and show our school spirit!
Ice Cream Social
In September of each year the PTO hosts a school wide ice cream social on the Druid playground to build school spirit and community. Ice cream treats are provided to all in attendance. .
Back to School Welcome Coffee
The PTO hosts two back to school parent coffee at the start of the school year. Catch up with families and meet new families that have joined our school community at the grassy seating area on the NW corner of the building. In case of rain, we will meet in the cafeteria.
Columbus Arts Festival
Frozen Drink Booth
Frozen Drink Booth
Looking for more ways to support Indianola Informal? Join the PTO to run our Frozen Drinks Booth at the Columbus Arts Festival. Serve delicious frozen drinks to the crowds at the arts festival and the proceeds go directly to Indianola! It is a fun, easy way to support the school. We will be hosting the drink booth on Saturday, June 11th. Multiple shifts are available. Click here to sign up to volunteer!
Clintonville 5K
Join the students, staff, and families of Clintonville neighborhood schools as we team up for a community-wide event at Whetstone High School. The Clintonville 5K includes a 5K walk/run for all age groups and a One Mile Fun Run for kids, as well as Vendor Alley, featuring local businesses and organizations. In the past, Indianola has been the No. 1 participant in this event, with more families joining in the fun on race day! Be sure to select Indianola as your school on the signup form. Sign up to run or walk in this fun community event. A committee of volunteers is needed to make this event a success. Contact the PTO if you are interested in helping with this event!
Staff Appreciation
Our children’s learning environment and educational experiences are enhanced greatly by the work of our school’s teachers and staff. To show appreciation for all they do, staff dinners are organized by the PTO twice per year during conferences. Other small tokens of appreciation are provided to the staff once or twice during the school year. A committee of volunteers is needed to make this event a success.
Carnival
The carnival is held on the second Friday in May. It is a fun-filled event for our school and the greater community that includes concessions, games, and activities. It is both our largest school event and our largest fundraiser. Local businesses provide much-needed support for this event through silent auction donations and sponsorships. The carnival requires the work of a large number of volunteer committees to organize, manage, and run the event. Check out the Carnival page to learn more! A committee of volunteers is needed to make this event a success.
Read-a-Thon
The Read-A-Thon is held as a fundraiser and a way to encourage students in their reading efforts. It begins at end of January and continues into February. Students are encouraged to read to collect pledges for their reading efforts. Fun activities are included as a part of the read-a-thon, including a rock and read chair in the main hallway. A committee of volunteers is needed to make this event a success.
Wellness Week
Wellness Week is sponsored by the Friends of Indianola PTO and will include fun activities for students on wellness topics such as nutrition, fitness, and kindness to oneself and others. A committee of volunteers is needed to make this event a success.
