Ready! Set! READ!
Monday, February 26 - Friday, March 8, 2024
Read-A-Thon is an annual fundraiser that promotes reading and raises funds for the PTO and our school.
Our goal is to have EVERY Indianola student participate!
Step #1: Set a reading goal
Students should set a goal of how many minutes they will read each day during Read-A-Thon or a total number of minutes. Try 20 minutes per day!
Mark your goal on the Tracking Sheet that was sent home the week of Feb. 19 or download and print it below.
Step #2: Ask for pledges
Students can ask family, friends and neighbors to sponsor them. Donations can be an amount per minute or a flat amount. We encourage each student to get at least two different sponsors to pledge to show support toward their reading goal.
Track your pledges on the Tracking Sheet. Donations can be made online here or via check made out to “Indianola PTO – donations” and brought to your teacher.
Step #3: Track your reading
Every day from Monday, February 26 - Friday, March 8, 2024, track the number of minutes that you read on the Tracking Sheet.
On Friday, March 1, and Friday, March 8, submit the total number of minutes you read that week using our online form found via the button below.
This is important! We will draw prizes early the following week for those who submitted minutes online. Please make sure to fill out the form completely on each Friday of Read-A-Thon.
All participants will receive a prize!

Sprit Week will be the first week of Read-A-Thon, Feb. 26-March 1.
Monday: Read My Shirt Day. Wear a shirt with a fun phrase on it!
Tuesday: Hats Off to Reading! Wear your favorite hat to school.
Wednesday: Cozy Up with a Good Book! Wear your pajamas to school.
Thursday: Superhero Day! Dress up like your favorite superhero.
Friday: School Spirit Day. Show Indy some love by wearing purple!
Donate books!
Donate books using the box under the Read-A-Thon banner across from the office at Indianola Informal to benefit Head Start.
