The Indianola Community Meeting (Updated: Nov 30, 2015)
The Indianola Community Meeting was held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. This was an unprecedented joint meeting of the Indianola Informal K-8 community of parents, teachers, and support staff with Superintendent Dan Good and representatives from Columbus City Schools departments. After a meeting in the auditorium, breakout sessions were held covering six categories of issues that had been brought to the district by the Indianola community. Notes were taken in each session, and these notes are being used to create working documents to track progress on each issue. All six working documents created from the Indianola Community Meeting notes are now available. (The original meeting notes are also available: Indianola/CCS Joint Meeting Notes.) Many positive changes are already underway. Click on the links below to go directly to the topic that interests you.

Fall Clean-Up = Success!
7 kids + 4 adults + 40 bags of mulch + 12 lawn and leaf bags + 1 weed whacker + 4 hours = a much nicer looking front courtyard, parent room courtyard, and garden. Thank you to the volunteers who worked HARD to make our school look even better. Thank you also to Lowes for a fantastic discount on mulch. There is still clean up work to be done in the garden and in other courtyards. Please contact Amy Hill (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Lisa Evans (email@example.com) if you would like to help.
Mileage Club met for the last fall session on Thursday, November 19. Our walkers and runners logged 264 miles during the past month alone! Mileage Club will start back up in the spring, after the morning temperatures are consistently over 40 degrees. Thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers who make Mileage Club possible! If you’d like to learn more about Mileage Club and how you can help, please contact Lisa Evans (firstname.lastname@example.org
). We’re especially looking for someone to set up at 8:20 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
