|Award winning books
are a great resource to get ideas of good read aloud books. Look for titles that seem to fit your child’s interests. Check reviews
to see if the book is age appropriate. Pick up your book (and others) at a local library today!
Family Read-Alouds are a great source of quality time with your child. Take some time by yourself beforehand so you can be refreshed and relaxed as you enjoy reading and talking together. Share your thoughts as you read: you and your child can make connections to the book through experience or feelings you’ve had, places you’ve been, or other books you’ve read.
Engage with our school community: share what book you’re reading on the Indianola Informal K-8 Friends and Family Facebook Group. Other families will appreciate book recommendations especially when you share the ages/grades of kids who enjoyed it.
